Talk of the Town Dazzles with Dixieland

The Talk of The Town, under the leadership of Kevin Van Ess, is one of the hottest Dixieland/Swing Style Jazz Groups north of New Orleans. The group featuring clarinet/saxophone, trumpet, trombone, banjo, bass, piano, and drums will appear at Third Avenue Playhouse for one performance on Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 pm.

Before coming together to form the group, the members performed individually throughout the world. Band leader, clarinet and saxophonist Kevin Van Ess has performed with a number of artists including Bob Hope, Shari Lewis, Rich Little, Marie Osmond, The Green Bay Packer Band, The Dukes of Dixieland and in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. Those who’ve seen The Talk of the Town perform are familiar with Van Ess’s smooth, fluid style.

The Talk of The Town performs all styles of music with an emphasis on the great jazz standards with special salutes to Pete Fountain, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, AL Hirt, The Dukes of Dixieland, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and many more. On occasion, you may even hear a polka as the group salutes the official state song of Wisconsin!
