Talk with a Modern Medievalist at Idea Gallery

Michael Santini, called a “modern medievalist” for his surrealistic, allegorical paintings and sculptures, will give an artist talk on his featured work in Exhibit 3 at Idea Gallery Sept. 15 at 3 pm. He will explain where his imagery originates and how he develops the processes for his paintings and sculptures.

Santini was inspired by the medieval painters of Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Bruegel, the contemporary works of Salvador Dali, Andrew Wyeth, James Bama and the Bible. His work includes oil paintings, drawings and composite sculptures. Each of his works are profound, yet universal in exploring principles and values of hope, choice, accountability, contemplation and political and spiritual strife.

Santini currently resides in Mequon with his wife Roberta. In the past 40 years his art has been exhibited in the United States, Switzerland and France. Santini has completed many commission pieces, been published in several publications and has created illustrations for magazine articles.

The talk will be held in Idea Gallery’s main showroom amongst a wide selection of Santini’s paintings and sculptures. Idea Gallery is located at 6551 Cty T in Egg Harbor (West Jacksonport).
