“Quay #3” by Rebecca Crowell.

For its 22nd season of presenting the works of outstanding regional artists, Woodwalk Gallery invites the public to an opening reception on May 24, 4:30 – 7 pm. Lockwood’s new paintings continue to build on her woods, skies, waters and landscapes abstract-impressionism themes but this winter a flock of birds emerged from her canvasses in her trees and on paintings that are like tapestries. Hanks’ watercolors explore dreamy spaces full of drama, contrasts, movement and light playing over the surfaces as an active participant in the dramas. Crowell’s paintings are abstract stories within stories inviting the viewer to walk with her into unfamiliar places.

Music for the reception will be provided by Paul Klapatch with an eclectic mix of accordions and horns, Leni Klapatch on flute and, the Bone (trombone) Boys: George Draeb, Dave Hansell, John Mann, Bob Ryan and Mary Wold.
