Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) launched a partnership with all eight Door County Library branches early this year to create the Checkout TAP program, which is making more than 1,600 free theater tickets available by using a library code.
This partnership will expand in October with the debut of the monthly Play Reading Club, based out of the Sturgeon Bay branch. It will add to the library’s existing roster of book-reading clubs by focusing on dramatic literature as participants read and discuss a play each month.
TAP’s artistic director, Jacob Janssen, will lead the Play Reading Club, which will meet for the first time Oct. 19, 3 pm. Participants will read and discuss Birds of North America, TAP’s next production. A limited number of scripts can be checked out from the library, and a reference copy will be available for reading in the library.
No advance registration is required, and everyone is welcome to join. Those who attend in October will help to choose the play to discuss in November.
