TAP Enters the World of Online Dating

The Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) and Riverway Studio of East Haddam present Methuselah’s Guide to Online Dating (For Those With Reading Glasses) starring Todd Little, Ira Sakolsky, Becca Atkins, Suzanne Powers, and Elijah Manning, June 18 – July 3. Methuselah’s Guide takes a comic look at the world of online dating based on the improvisational theatrical techniques developed by Paul Sills and Viola Spolin. A cast of five will explore the pleasures (and pains) of online dating as practiced by people of a “certain age.” Methuselah’s Guide includes an original score by Ira Sakolsky.

For folks who grew up with rotary phones and black and white television, online dating can be a mysterious, funny and perhaps intimidating experience. Whether you’re thinking of dipping your toe into the online dating waters or you’re already out there swimming, this is the show for you!

Created by Todd Alan Little and Ira Sakolsky, this hilarious and touching look at the search for love in the digital age will make you laugh, cry, and maybe feel like you are not alone.

Tickets are available at the TAP box office or online at thirdavenueplayhouse.com. General admission is $25 and students 14 – 24 are $10. Methuselah’s Guide contains adult situations and is not suitable for children 13 and under.

On June 26 and 27, Ira Sakolsky, co-writer and composer for Methuselah’s Guide, will be teaching an improv workshop for kids ages 9 – 18. Each one-day workshop costs $15. To register, call 920.743.1760.
