Tap Ushers in First Show of The Season

Tickets are now on sale for Third Avenue PlayWorks’ (TAP, formerly Third Avenue Playhouse) first show of the 2021 season: Gutenberg! The Musical

Directed by Michael Stebbins, it features Chad Luberger, Doug Mancheski and Ryan Cappleman in a hilarious spoof in which a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new project: a big, splashy musical about Johannes Gutenberg, who invented the movable-type printing press in the 15th century. The show features more than three dozen songs, and the two-person cast playing 30-plus roles using very limited props and costuming.

The show will run at the theater, 239 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, Oct. 7-31: Tuesdays – Saturdays, 7:30 pm, and Sundays, 2 pm. A pay-what-you-can preview performance will be held Oct. 6.

For this production, audience members will need to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and be fully masked while in the theater. TAP has also mandated vaccinations for performers, production members and staff.
