Tap’s Playworks Series Presents: A Lost Leonardo

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP, thirdavenueplayhouse.com) is continuing its PlayWorks series April 2, 7 pm, with A Lost Leonardo by David Davalos.

After suffering a major artistic disappointment in Milan, Leonardo da Vinci seemed to have renounced art and instead worked briefly as a military engineer for Cesare Borgia, the ruthless leader of the papal armies (and illegitimate son of the pope). But after his time with Borgia, Leonardo returned to art and created his masterpiece Mona Lisa.

A Lost Leonardo is a fictionalized account of the time during Leonardo’s life when he was struggling with his identity and the responsibility that creators bear to and for their creations.

Tickets are free, but donations are appreciated. The playwright will join the cast and director for a live talkback immediately following the reading.
