Tax Deadline Extended – for Some

The Door County Board passed a resolution in May allowing the deadline for July 31 property taxes to be extended to Oct. 1 this year. The resolution, however, also requires the 19 municipalities in Door County to pass a similar resolution for it to go into effect.

As of June 8, Door County Treasurer Jay Zahn had received notice that only six municipalities had passed resolutions: Liberty Grove, Jacksonport and Sturgeon Bay, the Villages of Egg Harbor and Sister Bay, and the City of Sturgeon Bay. The remaining 13 municipalities have until July 1 to pass a resolution, or their tax deadline will remain July 31.
