Tea Thyme Hosts Traditional ‘High Tea’ to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Door County

Tea Thyme of Door County, one of the shops in the Country Walk Shops in Sister Bay, is hosting a traditional “High Tea” as a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Door County. The menu includes finger sandwiches, English scones, and petit fours and Pavlova for dessert. A variety of teas will also be served. The event, in their new British-style tearoom, will be held July 15, 4 – 6 pm.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, serving all of Door County, matches area youth with volunteers in one-to-one relationships. More than 120 children have been matched in the last five years, according to Big Brothers Big Sisters Door County Program Coordinator Patty O’Rourke. “We’re excited about this event, as something very different from the other fundraisers we’ve done, and are very grateful to Tea Thyme,” said O’Rourke.

Many of the other Country Walk shops have donated gift certificates and merchandise for raffle and door prizes. Centerpieces donated by Blossoms Flower House in Sister Bay will be available for purchase.

Hats and gloves are optional but definitely encouraged. The cost is $40 per person. Seating is limited and reservations are required, by calling Tea Thyme owners Karen or Lynn at 920.854.3737. For more information about Big Brothers Big Sisters, visit bbbsnew.org.
