Team Leadership Center Offers Sib Camp

The Team Leadership Center of Door County is offering Sib Camp to any child who has a sibling with special needs from Tuesday, July 29 through Friday August, 1, 2008. Sibs will spend four days and three nights camping, backpacking, biking and exploring the forests, beaches and natural areas surrounding Newport State Park in Ellison Bay. Participants will be able to take time out of their typical busy schedules to enjoy the outdoors, sit around campfires and meet new friends.

Sib Camp is an opportunity “Celebrate Me!” by sharing stories and experiences with peers who truly understand the ups and downs of life with a sibling who has special needs. All meals are prepared and provided. Camping gear is provided, although there is an additional charge for bike rental. Transportation from the Team Leadership Center is also provided.

The camp is open to children ages 10 – 15 and participants will practice Leave No Trace camping. The camp is $200 per person, though financial assistance is available based on individual need.
