Team Leadership Center Offers Summer Camps

The Team Leadership Center (TLC) in Institute has just announced two summer camps during the months of July and August.

Youth ages 8 – 14 can build self-confidence and leadership skills in a safe environment with Camp Confidence, which is set for July 6 – 9. The Team Leadership Center staff will provide three days of team building, problem solving, rock climbing, ropes course and zip-line with the focus on personal outcome statements, self communication, developing healthy choices, personal challenge and success.

No previous climbing experience is necessary. The cost of the camp is $180 per participant, including lunch. Financial assistance is available based on individual need.

The TLC has also partnered with the Fox Valley Sibling Support Network to offer Sib Camp, a camp for any child who has a sibling with special needs. Siblings will spend four days and three nights camping, backpacking, biking and exploring the forests, beaches and natural areas surrounding Newport State Park, near Ellison Bay. Participants will the take the time to enjoy the outdoors, campfires, and meeting new friends. Sib Camp is an opportunity to share stories and experiences with peers who truly understand the ups and downs of life with a sibling who has special needs.

The cost of Sib Camp is $200, including all meals, camping gear, and transportation from the Team Leadership Center. Again, financial assistance is available based on need.

The Team Leadership Center is located eight miles north of Sturgeon Bay on 4497 Ploor Road. For more information on these summer camps, call 920.746.9999.
