The YWCA of Greater Green Bay recently accepted the Women’s Fund of Door County’s $2,500 grant to fund the TechGYRLS Program in Door County. TechGYRLS seeks to empower young girls in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and to encourage them to pursue careers within these fields. TechGYRLS focuses on girls from low-income households and provides scholarships for low-income girls to attend the program. With the Women’s Fund funds, TechGYRLS will be able to provide 14 scholarships to girls to attend the program for a year.
The TechGYRLS program started at the Boys and Girls Club of Door County in October and will continue to expand into Door County. TechGYRLS is for girls in third to eighth grade and is held after school. For more information visit ywcagreenbay.org or contact Sam Fields at 920.432.5581 or [email protected].
