Ted Pollman Scholarship Winners Announced

The annual Ted Pollman Scholarship has been awarded to Autumn Schartner of Sevastopol High School and Benjamin Anderson of Gibraltar High School.

Schartner, daughter of Kim and Mark Schartner, served as team manager for the Pioneers’ baseball and basketball teams and has worked with Sunshine House, the Salvation Army and the YMCA. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater to major in journalism.

Anderson, son of Tammy and Gary Anderson, served as a captain on the Vikings’ cross country, track and boys basketball teams during his time at Gibraltar. He has also served as a delegate to Badger Boys State, and is a member of National Honor Society and DECA. Anderson has already been accepted to UW – Whitewater and hopes to earn a bachelor’s degree in special education.

The intent of the Ted Pollman Scholarship is to reward graduating seniors who can successfully demonstrate that he/she has fully overcome financial, scholastic and/or physical challenges in their lives. Students must have participated in extracurricular activities and community service and be advancing their education.
