Tell Your Story

After an afternoon of “standing room only” storytelling in June, Door Shakespeare, in collaboration with Write On, Door County, is seeking submissions from writers and storytellers for their second, live storytelling event to take place at 2 pm on Oct. 11 at the Fish Creek Town Hall.

Inspired by the change of seasons, the organizations are seeking true, real life stories from the community based on the theme “transformation.” Whether literal or figurative, “transformation” can be interpreted in any way writers relate the theme to a time, event or moment in their personal lives.

Submissions are due Sept. 28, should be no longer than 1,400 words, written in the first person, and able to be read in front of an audience of all ages. After stories are selected, writers will have the opportunity to craft their writing and storytelling skills with Jerod Santek of Write On, Door County and Jennefer Ludwigsen of Door Shakespeare before the event. Writers must be able to attend a workshop/rehearsal on Oct. 6.

All stories and pitches should be emailed to [email protected]. Please contact the Door Shakespeare office at 920.839.1500 or Write On, Door County at 920.868.1457 with any questions.
