Tent Show Radio is Live at DCA

Michael Perry

Tent Show Radio Live comes to Door Community Auditorium on April 25 as part of Wisconsin Public Radio show’s 20th-anniversary season. Tent Show Radio’s Fish Creek concert will feature best-selling author, songwriter, radio show host and amateur pig farmer Michael Perry, along with Big Top Chautauqua’s Blue Canvas Orchestra and special musical guests Corey Carlson and Katie Dahl.

Before it’s heard each week on Wisconsin Public Radio, the vibrant, dynamic Tent Show Radio show is recorded in front of a live audience. Since 1994, Tent Show Radio has been heard every week on listener-supported radio stations across the country. In addition to the dry wit of host Michael Perry and the joyful noise of the Blue Canvas Orchestra, each edition of Tent Show Radio features a different live performance from Big Top Chautauqua’s summer season of concerts and musical productions.

Tent Show Radio host Michael Perry is a bestselling author and humorist whose memoirs include Population 485, Truck: A Love Story, Coop, and Visiting Tom. He lives with his wife and two daughters in New Auburn, Wisconsin, where he serves on the local volunteer fire and rescue service and is an amateur pig farmer. (He is also serving at non-fiction judge of The Hal Prize, presented by Peninsula Pulse, for more information visit TheHalPrize.com.)

The Blue Canvas Orchestra (BCO) combines an eclectic and diverse group of accomplished musicians and is known for its big, appealing sound. The BCO is the house band at Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua, performs at the tent throughout the Big Top season, and has a vast repertoire of music, comedy, poetry, and historical musicals. The BCO accompanies Perry throughout the Tent Show Radio season.

The Tent Show Radio performance begins at 7 pm. Tickets for the concert range from $18 to $28. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 pm. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at dcauditorium.org.
