Textile Art Featured at Turtle Ridge

Turtle Ridge Gallery Boutique continues its passion for natural fibers by featuring the work of Illinois fiber artist Andrea LeBeau during June.

The textile-art form of fusion or nuno felting blends recycled and sustainably harvested silk and natural fibers with a water-and-soap massage to produce a strong, resilient textile that’s luxuriously soft, flowing and versatile. LeBeau begins aach piece with a vision, and as she lays down the silk and pulls the wool, a shape and color palette begin to form.

Turtle Ridge will host an opening reception June 10, 4-7 pm, to share LeBeau’s creations and new work by Mary Ellen Sisulak, including hand-colored etching prints of mushrooms, owls, frogs, dragonflies and plants. Refreshments will be served.

Visit the Turtle Ridge Gallery Boutique (turtleridgegallery.com), 11736 Mink River Road in Ellison Bay, to enjoy the art and wander through the gardens and grounds. It’s open daily, 10 am – 5 pm.
