It’s all about family, friends and community this weekend in Door County! Join the generous folks in Jacksonport for the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, head to Sister Bay and Egg Harbor for a weekend of festive fun, and shop local on Small Business Saturday.
Thursday, November 24
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
It’s the 90th anniversary of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade! The dazzling balloons, awe-inspiring floats and amazing performers make their way down the streets of New York City beginning at 9 am. Watch from the comfort of your home on NBC.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Start your day of gratitude with the always-eclectic Thanksgiving Day Parade in Jacksonport. This year’s parade begins at 10:30 am and benefits Jacksonport native and fire department veteran Marsha Wilson, who will undergo knee surgery in December. Bucket donations will be collected along the route.
A Community Meal
All are welcome to the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. Enjoy dinner with all the trimmings, raffles, games friends and much more! 3 – 6 pm.
Friday, November 25
Capture the Spirit
Warm up your holiday spirit, tune up your caroling voice, bundle up the kids and join the festivities at the Sister Bay Capture the Spirit event! The downtown will glow with luminaries as you and your family enjoy the Village Christmas tree lighting, storytelling and crafts with Santa, holiday cookie decorating and a holiday arts and crafts show.
Celebrate the Holly Days
An exciting old-fashioned winter weekend including Breakfast with Santa, an elf hunt for children, Mistle Dough shopping contest, tree lighting & caroling, horse-drawn wagon rides, and more.
Honoring A Chief
Join a naturalist at Peninsula State Park for a brief history lesson and walk to Chief Kahquados’ grave – a chief of the Potawatomi Nation. 10 am.
Saturday, November 26
Small Business Saturday
Celebrate the sixth annual Small Business Saturday by visiting Door County’s shops and galleries! Many of them will host special holiday open houses this weekend – check the ‘Events Calendar’ for details on when and where!
Merry-Time Fun Kids Day
Bring the kiddos to the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay for a fun-filled day that will include the Sea Dogs exhibit, a scavenger hunt, story time, crafts, games and more! 10:30 am.
Gypsy Trippin’
Head on over to Door County Brewing Co. to hear the “alt-nostalgia” music of Green Bay gypsy jazz-klezmer-swing group Gypsy Trip. 7 pm.
Shower‘oke’
If the thought of belting your favorite song in front of a bar full of strangers gets your face glowing red, fear not – you can always hide behind the shower curtain during this weekly “no excuses karaoke” with DJ Hope Reyes. 9 pm.

Ukulele Jam Session
Join the Door County Ukulele Society for an afternoon jam session at the Northern Door YMCA. Open to everyone, regardless of skill level. 1 pm.
All About Red Squirrels
Learn about red squirrels and their harvest homes with the staff of the Crossroads at Big Creek during this free presentation. 2 pm.
