Thanksgiving Meals Available for Northern Door Residents

A traditional Thanksgiving menu will again be available free of charge to northern Door County residents courtesy of First Baptist Church in Sister Bay and Bethel Baptist Church in Ellison Bay. This is an outreach to individuals, couples or families that may be dealing with health concerns, financial difficulties, mobility issues or isolation. This year has been especially stressful, and the sponsoring churches hope to brighten the holiday for many.

The meal will include roasted turkey (both white and dark meat), sage-and-apple stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, pan gravy, candied yams, green beans, Waldorf salad, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie. These fully prepared dinners will be available for noncontact pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 3:30-5:30 pm, at either of the two churches. Meals will also be delivered on request.

Advance reservations are essential. To reserve your Thanksgiving meal(s), visit fb.me/northerndoortday and click the sign-up button, or  call the First Baptist Church at 920.854.2544, ext. 10. When leaving a message, include your full name, the number of meals requested and a phone number where you can be reached to confirm details.

Reservations will be accepted through Nov. 13. If the maximum number of diners who can be accommodated is reached, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.
