The Bulletin: Coming Up

• Sturgeon Bay will hold a public hearing to discuss the city budget Nov. 25 at 3:30 pm.

• Pulse contributor Caleb Whitney of Greenside Up Landscaping will be featured on Wisconsin Public Television in a program titled, “Winter Landscapes” Nov. 17 at 8 pm and Nov. 22 at 10:30 am.

Sturgeon Bay’s Bayview Bridge will close for repairs from 9 am – 3 pm Nov. 18 – 20 while crews repair steel plates on the moveable span.

• The week of Nov. 17 is the last day for curbside leaf pickup in the City of Sturgeon Bay.

• Those interested in running to fill local government seats in the spring election can begin circulating nomination papers Dec. 1. The papers must be filed by Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009. The spring election will he held Tuesday, April 7, 2009. If a primary is necessary it will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009.

• Two village trustee positions and the village president seat will be on next April’s ballot in Ephraim. President John Cox and trustees Jane Olson and Sue Sherman are expected to seek re-election. Their present terms expire April 29, 2009.

Liberty Grove Town Chairman Bill Casey has announced he will not seek re-election in next April’s election. Casey has served on the town’s board for 14 years, and considered leaving the board in 2007, but stayed on to help ease in a board that experienced significant turnover. Supervisors Jon Jensen and Nancy Goss are expected to run again.

• The Liberty Grove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8337 is seeking help to identify veterans who have served or are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. All information shared should be voluntary. • The Ephraim Historic Preservation Committee and the Ephraim Plan Committee will meet early this month due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The meetings will be held Nov. 18. Normally the two committees meet on the 4th Monday of each month.

Ephraim Village Board will meet Monday, Nov. 17 at 4:30 pm to review applications for the Administrator/Clerk position.

• Jacksonport will hold a public hearing Dec. 2 at 7 pm to provide information and gather public comment on a proposed ordinance to regulate boating activities on Clark Lake and Logan Creek, including no-motor restrictions.

• High school basketball gets under way this week. Girls play begins Nov. 18, while the guys begin their season a week later, Nov. 25.
