The Clearing Announces 2009 Workshop Program Catalog

The Clearing Folk School in Ellison Bay has recently announced the publication of its 2009 Workshop Program catalog. These half-day, one, two and three-day classes begin in July and run through early November. A wide variety of classes in the arts, fine crafts, natural sciences and humanities are offered, with over 30 classes being offered including writing, photography, painting, paper arts, bonsai, drawing and many new wood working classes. Full class descriptions are also online.

Most classes are held on The Clearing’s 128-acre property and run from 9am – 4pm. Tuition includes a catered lunch for full-day classes. July classes include:  Fused Glass Creations, Woodturning Basics, Behind the Music of Eric Lewis, Writing from the Inside, Decorative Bookbinding, Scandinavian Flat-plan Wood Carving, Experience the Niagara Escarpment, and Bead Embroidery Jewelry.

In addition to its 2009 Workshop Catalog, The Clearing’s Summer Residence weeklong catalog is also available.

The Clearing continues its mission of providing diverse educational experiences in the folk school tradition, in a setting of quiet forests, meadows and water. Throughout its 74-year history, The Clearing remains a unique and special place.
