The Clearing’s Annual Exhibition of Student Work

The Clearing’s Winter Program Annual Student Exhibit will take place Feb. 27 and 28, 10 am – 4 pm, at The Clearing’s Jens Jensen Visitor Center located at 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay.

This popular event will feature students’ work from their participation in this year’s 84 Winter Program classes that were offered in January and February. Original works and class displays will highlight art, fine crafts, nature studies and projects. The exhibit is the culmination of a wonderful winter season and is free and open to the public. Also, the Bookstore and Gift Shop will be open to browse, and to drop your name in the prize box and be eligible for door prizes including a free class.

The Clearing Folk School’s 2016 Winter Program classes are made possible through the generous contributions of time and talent by an all-volunteer faculty of 64 community instructors who teach in The Clearing’s informal hands-on folk school tradition. Classes are held on The Clearing campus in Ellison Bay and in homes, churches and business locations throughout the county such as The Fireside Restaurant, Door County Brewing Co., Izora’s Beads, Scandia Village and others. A number of classes are also held outdoors with many opportunities for guided hiking “off the beaten path” in cooperation with the Door County Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.
