In the tradition of masterful magician Harry Houdini, Tim and Robin Balster wave their wands as the curtain rises on a fun-filled family performance. Celebrating the world’s holiday traditions, Season’s Greetings will be presented at the Door Community Auditorium on Saturday, November 29 at 3 and 7 pm.
Staged in a winter wonderland, Season’s Greetings features the colorful magic of mischievous elves, toy soldiers, and snow-white doves. Children and adults will delight in the mystery and surprise of magic, some tricks traditional while others are new and innovative.
With a nod to Houdini, who immigrated to Appleton, Wisconsin from Hungary in 1874, the Balsters are superior at creating mystifying magic. Doves soar, candles disappear, and a Christmas elf floats in air. The finale even features one of Houdini’s most famous tricks: “the metamorphosis.”
Whether celebrating Christmas with a bright shining tree, commemorating Hanukkah with the lighting of the Menorah, or honoring African heritage during Kwanzaa, Season’s Greeting brings peoples of all cultures and traditions to a place of universal understanding. This one-hour program will kick off the holidays with a rare combination of fun and frolic.
Tickets for Season’s Greetings are $18, $14, and $10 for children 12 years of age and under. All tickets are available for purchase at the DCA box office, by phone (920.868.2728), or online at http://www.dcauditorium.org. Regular box office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am – 3 pm.
