The Dearly Departed

The Ephraim Moravian Church and the Ephraim Historical Foundation will present Dearly Departed, A Cemetery Walk in the Ephraim Moravian Cemetery on Sept. 8 from 1 to 3 pm, rain or shine.

This will be the fourth cemetery walk for the church and foundation. Each year is a unique experience, representing a variety of Ephraim legends that rest in the Ephraim Moravian Cemetery. Local residents will portray Elsie Groenfeldt, Dena Hogenson Knudson, Laura and Andreas Iverson, Ole Larson, Katrina Oneson, Anna Petterson and Harold Wilson.

New for this year’s program is a walk down the hill to the Iverson House where guests will be treated with the stories of Anna Petterson and Marie Elisa Groenfeldt, two ministers’ wives who lived in the historic house.

The Ephraim Moravian Cemetery is located at the corner Willow and Norway Streets, east of the church grounds in Ephraim. Parking and shuttles are available at the Moravian Church, Bethany Lutheran Church, and behind the Ephraim Fire Station on Norway. For more information call 920.854.9688.
