The Eclipse Gallery Opens Andrew Linskens Solo Show

The public is invited to the opening reception of “Abstract Intuitive Tessellation Illustrations and Other 3D Explorations” on Saturday, July 17 from 5:30 – 10 pm at the Eclipse Gallery in Algoma. The event is free and refreshments will be served. The exhibit features Andrew Linskens’s recent work and will run until late September.

The illustrative look of Linskens’s work comes from his interest in animation and graphic design. Many compare his work with graffiti, though Linskens says that graffiti is not the most influential element of his work.

“I am more interested in things like technology’s ties to nature and fractal design,” said Linkens. “However, I do share some of the same rules of graffiti such as, initial outline first, then fill-ins, designs, 3D and final outline. There is also a similarity to interlocking tessellations. However these paintings are not mathematical. They are intuitive. Each piece of the puzzle has its place in the chaos.”

Linskens artwork is included in collections throughout the United States. He is also an animator and graphic designer.

The Eclipse Gallery is located at 507 4th Street, Highway 42, in Algoma. For more information call 920.487.8060 or visit http://www.theeclipsegallery.com.
