The Eclipse Gallery Opens “Salon 100” Exhibition

“Salon 100,” on display at Eclipse Gallery in Algoma, is a contemporary take on the traditional salon-style show, with a twist – every artwork is priced at a mere $100.

“You will be surprised at what you’ll find,” said Eclipse Curator Sarah Hemm. “Many local and area artists sent excellent work for this show, along with well-known artists from across the United States. We are encouraging sales by giving buyers the option of taking purchased work home with them immediately – this is a great opportunity for both the artists and collectors.”A variety of mediums are presented in “Salon 100,” including painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles/fiber, jewelry, beadwork, and photography. Area artists represented include Lynn Gilchrist, Andrew Linskens, Laural Virtues Wauters, Deb Mortl, Rosie Dittmann, Adam Koenig, Drew Schmidt, Wendy Wimmer, Lori Birr, Karen Newquist, Beth Landry, Nancy Prange, and more. Also, the Eclipse Gallery is now part of the new Algoma Art Wave gallery/studio tour that takes place the second Friday night of each month. The artist reception for “Salon 100” will be in conjunction with this event on Dec. 10 from 5 – 8 pm. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served. Other participants on the Art Wave include the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art, Clay on Steele, and Bren Sibilsky Sculpture.
