The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts Seeks Docents

The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the arts through outreach programs, events, and exhibitions. The organization operates the Francis Hardy Gallery located on the Anderson Dock in Ephraim’s historic Anderson Warehouse. In order to keep the level of the organization at its peak, the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts is in need of willing, enthusiastic volunteers who love the arts and meeting new people.

Volunteers training to become docent, shadow veteran docents to understand, first-hand, their functions and tasks within the gallery setting. The Francis Hardy Gallery docents are people who greet the incoming public and offer information about the exhibiting show. They also give advice and assistance to patrons concerning works within the gallery.

If the docent role is not for you, there are many other opportunities within the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts. The organization’s needs extend beyond its immediate need of docents. There are opportunities in educational programs sponsored for the youth, adult enrichment programs within the community, and different committees of the organization.

If you, or someone you know, would like to volunteer to become a docent for the Francis Hardy Gallery, please call 920.854.2210, stop by the gallery on the Anderson Dock, or visit the Uptown Gallery located directly behind the Ephraim Village Hall to fill out a volunteer form.
