“The Good Lie” Screened at UUF

A free screening of The Good Lie, the 2014 film that tells the story of the orphans of civil war in Sudan who became known as The Lost Boys, will be shown at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim on July 21 at 4:30 pm.

In 1983 the orphans traveled nearly a thousand miles on foot, enduring unspeakable circumstances in search of refuge. More than a decade later, a humanitarian effort would bring thousands of these survivors to America. The Good Lie is the uplifting, true-to-life tale of four friends’ journey from their devastated homeland to the foreign world that is modern America, and the people who help empower them to begin again. Starring Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon with an ensemble cast of Sudanese actors.

The film is part of the monthly Movies That Matter series examining a wide range of issues. The UU Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.7559.
