The Hardy Gallery Unveils Two Exhibits

The Hardy Gallery is pleased to open its 2010 Collection Invitational Exhibition and Community Mosaic Project. Both will be on display from Saturday, July 24 through Sunday, August 29. The opening reception for the exhibits will be held on Friday, July 23 from 5:30 – 7 pm.

The Collection Invitational exhibit presents work by professional regional artists. The exhibit highlights two works from each artist, one for display and one a donation to support the nonprofit Hardy Gallery. Door County visitors and residents may view and place bids on the donated artwork through noon on Sunday, August 29.

Part community outreach project and part fundraiser, the Community Mosaic Project consists of a large-scale mosaic (approximately 12 feet by 6 feet), constructed of 300 6-inch by 6-inch canvases. Each piece of art is crafted by community members of all skill levels and ages with no requirements for subject matter or medium.

At the conclusion of the exhibit, the mosaic will be disassembled and restored to individual canvases. Each piece of artwork is assigned a number, and throughout the duration of the exhibit, the public is invited to purchase a number for $25.

The Hardy Gallery, located on Anderson Dock in Ephraim, is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm and Monday from 10 am – 8 pm. For more information call 920.854.2210 or visit http://www.thehardy.org.
