The Lexicon of 9/11

The 9/11 attacks and the American response created its own language. In the days, weeks and years to follow a lexicon of 9/11 emerged, its words weaving their way into everyday speech and use in pop culture. Our graphic designer, Nik Garvoille, produced a word cloud from a selection of the words and phrases introduced into common usage by events connected to 9/11.
