The Lodge Celebrates 10 Years of Broadcasting in 2018

FM 106.9 The Lodge is celebrating 10 years of broadcasting as of April 26, 2018. Mike Mesic, station owner and program director, said, “Some days it seems much longer than that, and others, like we just signed on.”

The process to create the dial position for 106.9 started with behind-the-scenes applications to the FCC in 1999. It wasn’t until April of 2008 when WLGE powered up the tower in Baileys Harbor and studio in Ephraim and officially started broadcasting. It soon became Door County’s station to discover new music, reminiscence with singer-songwriters and enjoy the local characters of the community.

“The Lodge is more than what we put on air,” said Mesic. “It’s a companion and a feeling that connects us to Door County, it’s the people, and it’s why we still say, the soundtrack to the Door County lifestyle.”
