“The Normal Heart” at TAP

The Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) of Sturgeon Bay will present Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart on May 12 at 7:30 pm. The production, directed by Robert Boles, will benefit the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.

Featuring some of Door County’s finest actors, The Normal Heart focuses on the rise of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City between 1981 and 1984, as seen through the eyes of writer/activist Ned Weeks (played by Doug Mancheski), the gay Jewish-American founder of a prominent HIV advocacy group, The Gay Men’s Health Crisis.

Along with Mancheski, the performance will feature Alan Kopischke, James Valcq, Dan Klarer, Mark Moede, Chad Luberger, Ryan Patrick Shaw, Lee Becker, and Amy Ensign.
