The Residences at Egg Harbor

A three-story, 27-unit condominium building known as The Residences at Egg Harbor is being proposed for the site of the current Mueller Mini Mart at 7784 Hwy 42 in downtown Egg Harbor.

The architectural style of the proposed development will reflect the past, including a reproduction of the Mueller retail shop. The Mueller family has operated the gas station and repair facility for 52 years, and many locals have known the property as the former Birnschein’s Point Beach Service Station, owned then by Herman Birnschein

“It is important to design and construct a building that complements the existing small-town environment,” said Bob Wolter, one of the partners in the development. “The first-floor retail units are work/live units that range from 1,566 to 1,621 square feet. This gives the owners the opportunity to live and work in their condominium unit while preserving the residential and commercial feel of the downtown.”

Additional amenities will include climatized underground parking and a rooftop viewing deck for owners. If granted approval under the village’s existing Special Development District Zoning, construction would be slated for mid- to late summer 2020. Utschig has been appointed the construction manager.
