The Ridges Launches Free Fridays

The Ridges Sanctuary announced the introduction of Free Fridays, an interactive program series in which free admission to the Sanctuary is offered to visitors of all ages from dawn until dusk each Friday in July and August.

Each Free Friday will also explore a different theme, allowing visitors to learn aspects of the Sanctuary’s nature. 

Afternoon activities and learning experiences will be available from 1-4 pm at stations along the Hidden Brook Boardwalk for families.

Children will also receive a Free Fridays Passport, and Passports with five or more stamps can collect a prize in The Ridges Nature Center. 

The weekly themes are as follows: 

July 5 – Watersheds

July 12 – Birds of the Boreal Forest

July 19 – Conifers

July 26 – Under the Swales

Aug. 2 – Orchid observer

Aug. 9 – Pollinators

Aug. 16 – Turtles, snakes and amphibians, oh my!

Aug. 23 – Monarchs

Aug. 30 – Lichens
