The Ridges of Bailey’s Harbor Presents “Survival” Program

The pubic is welcome to learn about winter survival tips during “Survival,” a program hosted by The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor. The program is Saturday, Nov. 13, and will start at 10 am at the Ridges’ Marshall Cabin. Cost for the program is $10 per family (1 or 2 adults and their children under 18). Advance registration is requested by calling 920.839.2802.
The program will present animals’ winter survival strategies, and how humans have “borrowed” some of them as we learned to adapt to winter. Participants will practice some survival techniques, including building a shelter from branches and other natural materials. Dress for the weather, as the program will be held outside.
“Survival” is part of a series of programs called “No Family Left Inside,” designed to give parents and children the opportunity to explore nature together. The programs are offered by the Door County YMCA, the McArdle Library, and The Ridges.
The Ridges Sanctuary is located just north of Baileys Harbor at 8288 Hwy Q. For more information visit http://www.ridgessanctuary.org.
