The Ridges of Door County Begins Fall Hike Schedule

On September 1, the Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will begin its fall schedule of naturalist guided hikes. From September 1 through October 15, hikes will be given at 9:30 am Wednesday through Saturday. Cost is $5 for Ridges members, $8 for nonmembers, and free for children under 18.

A naturalist-guided hike is the best way to learn about the incredible diversity of the Ridges Sanctuary. During a relaxed 90-minute walk, visitors will learn about the history and formation of the Ridges, the Baileys Harbor Rangelights, and the unique wildflowers found in this area. Hikes are suitable for all ages.

The Ridges Sanctuary is a non-profit nature preserve located at 8288 Hwy Q, just north of Baileys Harbor. Trails are open to the public year round for a small fee (members may hike at no charge). The Nature Store, featuring a wide selection of nature-related books, puppets, T-shirts and gift items, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am – 4 pm, and noon – 3 pm on Sunday through October 16.
