The Ridges Offer Hikes at Logan Creek

Enjoy a relaxing fall hike through The Ridges Sanctuary’s Logan Creek Property on Oct. 5. Hikes will be led by Ridges Naturalist Karen Newbern, and begin at 1 pm.

The Logan Creek area features a variety of habitats, with trails leading through upland deciduous forests, cedar swamps, and several natural communities. The sugar maples and beeches will be putting on their fall colors, and a few wildflower species should be in bloom as well.

Established in 1937, The Ridges Sanctuary is Wisconsin’s oldest land trust and most biologically diverse area. The sanctuary is located just north of Baileys Harbor at 8288 County Road Q. Trails are open to the public year-round for a small fee. Naturalist-guided hikes in the sanctuary are offered Tuesday – Saturday at 9:30 am, through October 13.

Participants of the Oct. 5 Logan Creek hikes should wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear, and meet at the Logan Creek parking area (5724 Loritz Road, just south of Jacksonport). Families are welcome for this leisurely 90-minute hike.

Hikes cost $5 per adult, and free for children under 18. To preregister call 920.839.2802.
