The Ridges Reschedules Frog Walks

Spring is here – chronologically speaking – but our frogs are not impressed with the unseasonably chilly temperatures or the lingering snow and ice. To allow them a bit more time to come out of hibernation and begin their ritual serenades, The Ridges Frog Walks have been rescheduled for April 19 and 20 at 7:30 pm.

Early spring is mating season and the wetlands fill with peeping, trilling and quacking as the males seek out their little green sweethearts. Join naturalists on the noisy evening trails at The Ridges Sanctuary to find out about the watery lifestyle of frogs. Hikers will also learn frog call identification techniques.

Each Frog Walk is limited to 20 people. The cost is $10 per family (1 or 2 adults and their children under 18) for Ridges members and $15 per family for the general public. Hikers should meet at The Ridges Marshall Cabin, located at 8288 Hwy Q in Baileys Harbor.
