The Ridges Sanctuary Offers Guided Hikes

The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will begin its fall schedule of naturalist guided hikes. From Sept. 8 through Oct. 13, hikes will be given at 9:30 am Wednesday through Saturday.

A naturalist-guided hike is the best way to learn about the incredible diversity of The Ridges Sanctuary. During a relaxed 90-minute walk, visitors will learn about the history and formation of The Ridges, the Baileys Harbor Range Lights and the plant and wildlife ecology of the area.

Hikes are suitable for all ages. Cost is $5 for Ridges members, $8 for the general public, and free for children under 18 years old.

The Ridges Sanctuary, Wisconsin’s oldest land trust, is a non-profit nature preserve located just north of Baileys Harbor. Trails are open to the public year round for a small fee (members may hike at no charge). The Nature Store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm; and Sundays, 12 – 3 pm.
