The “Rumors” are True

Now on stage at Peninsula Players Theatre, America’s oldest professional resident summer theatre, is Neil Simon’s side-splitting comedy Rumors (through August 31).

Rumors starts when guests arrive dressed for a fancy dinner party to celebrate Charley and Myra Brock’s 10th anniversary only to find the hostess gone, dinner not cooked, the servants missing, and the host bleeding from a gunshot wound.

What happened? No one knows, but to keep a scandal from circulating about the Brocks, their friends start making up rumors of their own to keep other guests in the dark.

Rumors will be on stage at Peninsula Players Theatre Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7:30 pm with a matinee performance at 4 pm, Sunday August 31. Ticket prices are $32.25 and $29; there are no performances on Mondays. For more information or to reserve tickets, call 920.868.3287 or visit
