The Secret Life of ‘Jumping Worms’ Presentation Aug. 25

Plant, animal, or fungus – all have a story to tell. While digging in the dirt, you may find some magical and menacing animals called earthworms. Their fascinating world is filled with dirt and intrigue that you’ll never read about in a book.

Bernadette “Bernie” Williams is a Plant Pest and Disease Specialist in Forest Health for the Wisconsin DNR. She has spent the last 14 years studying and surveying earthworms and will reveal their secrets Aug. 25, 1 pm at Weborg Shelter in Peninsula State Park. Come learn everything you ever wanted to know about worms, especially the invasive “jumping worm,” and leave with a new appreciation, respect, and perhaps even fear of this incredible animal.

The public is invited to attend this free presentation sponsored by the Friends of Peninsula State Park. A park vehicle sticker is required. Parking at Weborg Shelter is limited. Additional parking is available just north of the campground at Nelson Point. RSVP to [email protected].
