The Sister Bay Historical Society Celebrates “Victory Farm” at Annual Meeting

The process of how historical facts are transformed into musical entertainment by American Folklore Theatre (AFT) will be the topic of the Annual Meeting of the Sister Bay Historical Society on June 27 at 7 pm.

Holly Feldman, AFT’s manager of Marketing and Development, will be joined by local folk singer/songwriter Katie Dahl, co-author of Victory Farm, in a discussion of the origins of the new play. Victory Farm is based on the experiences of German POWs who worked in Sister Bay orchards and fields during World War II. A sampling of the show’s original music will be included.

The meeting will be held in the Koessl Barn at the Corner of the Past Museum. This event is open to society members as well as anyone interested in historical preservation.

There will be a social hour/potluck dinner beginning at 5:30 pm. Those attending are asked to bring a favorite dish to share and to provide their own tableware if possible. Coffee, tea and milk will be provided.

The Corner of the Past Museum is located at the intersection of Highway 57, Country Lane and Fieldcrest Road, 1½ miles south of Sister Bay. Parking is available on the grounds, with access from Fieldcrest.
