The Stray Birds Perform Final White Gull Concert of the Season

The Stray Birds, a Pennsylvania acoustic folk trio, will be featured in concert on April 17 at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. Drawing upon the richness of American folk music traditions, the The Stray Birds sound lies in songwriting that soars in three-part harmony.

Raised on music within a few miles of farmland from each other, The Stray Birds were born of collaboration between two songwriters and vocalists, Maya de Vitry and Oliver Craven. Grounding their sound is bassist Charles Muench.

An ambitious touring schedule reflects their love of performing live music. “Music exists in a time and place, not just in a digital format,” says Muench. Reveling in the energy of each room, a connection to the audience is the essence of a Stray Birds show. Often singing into a single microphone, the band creates a resonance of wood and strings beneath three carefully blended voices.

The Stray Birds released their debut, self-titled, full-length album on July 21, 2012.

An optional pre-concert fixed price dinner will be served at 6 pm. The menu consists of mustard-braised chicken on a bed of spinach with mashed potatoes, salad and lemon velvet tart.

Tickets for the 8 pm concert, the last of the Inn’s winter acoustic music series, are $16.
