“The Subject Was Roses” at Third Avenue Playhouse

The first play by Third Avenue Playhouse’s (TAP) new theatre company, Stage Door Theatre Company, is the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy/drama The Subject Was Roses by Frank D. Gilroy.

The cast includes Mark Moede as John Cleary, Ryan Patrick Shaw as Timmy Cleary, and Dale Finn as Nettie Cleary. The Subject Was Roses centers on the relationship between a husband, wife and their young adult son at the end of World War II. After Timmy returns home from his service, his parents’ emotional wounds and unresolved marital problems resurface.
