The Teaching Press Launches with Inaugural Book

On April 4, UW-Green Bay’s The Teaching Press premiered its first book: a collection of poems by Tim Weyenberg called The Village and the Vagabond.
The Teaching Press is a new, student-managed printing house on the UW-Green Bay campus that undergraduates in the spring 2019 Book Editing Practicum course are building from the ground up.

It seeks to showcase northeastern Wisconsin voices, welcome authors from all fields and origins, and provide hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduates to learn transferable skills in interdisciplinary fields such as English, business and graphic design.

Tim Weyenberg is a retired CEO, current university trustee and the university’s first Cofrin School of Business executive-in-residence. He draws inspiration for his poetry from the Wisconsin landscape, his youth, his relationship with his wife of 50 years, and essential friendships, and he’s drawn his own sketches to accompany several poems.
