Think Smart and Win Some Green

The Smart car is everywhere: whipping through the streets in the movies DaVinci Code and Pink Panther, in Smart TV commercials with Godzilla trying to smash a Smart car, and even on display in New York City’s Museum of Modern Art.

But people aren’t use to seeing the Smart car around Door County – until now. Northern Door Children’s Center (NDCC) and benefactor Judith Blazer have chosen the Smart Passion Coupe as this summer’s stunning raffle prize, along with $5,000 cash!

The fifth annual NDCC raffle is going green, not only with Smart’s excellent gas mileage and other ecological features but with an added $5,000 in green that the winner can spend however they wish. Only 4,000 tickets will be sold at $20 apiece. Raffle tickets are available at the NDCC offices (10520 Judith Blazer Drive in Sister Bay) beginning May 5. The Smart car will begin its personal appearance schedule at Maifest in Jacksonport, with tickets available there and at many area businesses throughout the summer. Come to the NDCC Annual Gala at Bjorklunden on June 1 and try Smart on for size!

The 2008 Smart Passion Coupe is sunny yellow with black swooping trim, and it has a surprising amount of space inside. There’s plenty of head and legroom. Storage is found behind the front seats, and folding down the passenger seat allows extra room. It’s the perfect size for a couple, kids at college, or for towing behind an RV!

The summer-long raffle will end on Sunday, October 26, with a 2 p.m. drawing at the Northern Door Children’s Center (winner need not be present). With just 4,000 tickets available, buy several to increase your chances! Proceeds from the raffle will help fund the NDCC’s non-profit work for early childhood education and care. Currently, center enrollment is 95 children from ages 6 weeks to 11 years old, with upwards of 120 children enjoying summertime’s Camp Cool.
