Third Avenue Playhouse Announces Open Auditions for “Blithe Spirit”

Director Henry Timm will hold open auditions for the spring TAPWorks production of Blithe Spirit on Saturday, February 13 from 10 am – noon and Monday, February 15 from 6 – 8 pm at Third Avenue Playhouse. Performance dates are April 8 – 11 & 15 – 18 with rehearsals beginning on March 1.

Blithe Spirit is a classic comedy/farce written by Noel Coward in 1941. The action of the play centers on socialite Charles Condomine being haunted by the ghost of his first wife Elvira following a séance, and Elvira’s continued (and increasingly desperate) efforts to disrupt Charles’ current marriage. The play is notable for the comic character of Madame Arcati, the eccentric medium.
