Third Avenue Playhouse’s James Valcq Awarded

James Valcq, Third Avenue Playhouse’s co-artistic director, was honored at the Broadway World Milwaukee Theatre Awards. Valcq shared with his collaborators Lee Becker and John MacLay in winning the Broadway World Best Musical Award for Anatole, which received its world premiere at First Stage in Milwaukee in 2014. Valcq contributed music while Becker and MacLay contributed the book and lyrics. Becker appeared this past summer in Stage Door’s production of Private Lives.

James was also a Broadway World Award nominee for Best Scenic Design for his design of Stage Door Theatre Company’s production of Talley’s Folly.
