This Weekend in Door County: Cherries, LEGOs and Live Music

 Door County kicks off cherry season with festivals at Lautenbach’s Orchard Winery and Market and Cherry De-Lite Country Ovens. This weekend’s highlights also include Brick Party by the Bay and plenty of live music. 

Festivals 

Stop by the Summer Cherry Harvest Fest at Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery and Market, this Saturday (July 20, 10 am- 5 pm). Enjoy complimentary wine, specialty food tasting, pick-your-own cherries, free guided tours, wagon rides, live music, kids activities and more. Read more>>

Taking place this Saturday (July 20, 10 am-4 pm), the Cherry De-Lite Festival at Country Ovens will offer cooking demos, free samples, pie eating contests, music, kids activities and more. Read more>>

The Door County Plein Air Festival begins this Sunday, July 21 and will run through July 27. Plein-air artists have 6 days to paint Door County. Ticketed and free events will take place throughout the week. Visit peninsulaschoolofart.com for more info. 

Bring the whole family to Brick Party by the Bay (July 20-21) at Sister Bay Village Hall. See amazing LEGO creations, meet the designers, create your own designs and play LEGO inspired games. Read more>>

Outdoor Activities 

The Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament begins on July 19 and continues through July 27. Participating ports include Sturgeon Bay, Baileys Harbor, Washington Island, Algoma and Kewaunee. More than $50,000 will be available in cash and prizes. Read more>>

Pedal for Pancakes on Sunday (July 21, 9 am). A 20-mile round-trip bike ride from Egg Harbor to Baileys Harbor for a pancake breakfast at Thyme Cuisine. Register at kresspavilion.org/p4p

Experience the Universe in Potawatomi State Park, on Friday night (July 19, 8-10 pm). Join the UW-Madison astronomy department for a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by an opportunity to check out the night skies with a telescope. Read more>>
