This Weekend in Door County: Hey Hey 5k & Autumfest

The kids might be back and school and summer might be turning into fall but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Door County.

On Friday, Sept. 20 start your weekend off right by dropping of the kids at Super Kids Fun Night at the Sturgeon Bay YMCA and head to the Speakeasy Casino Night Fundraiser at Maxwelton Braes. While your kids are having a great time with their friends, you’ll be enjoying a night of Blackjack, Craps, Poker, Roulette, food, and more. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s attire. Benefits the Ellie Helm Foundation.

Saturday Sept. 22 is filled with fall activities starting in Baileys Harbor for the Autumnfest & Classic Auto Show. There will be live music, food & drinks, arts & crafts, and the classic auto & motorcycle show. Also part of Autumnfest is the Hey Hey 5k Run. Starting and ending at the Door County Brewing Co., all runners get a race t-shirt. You’re running out of time, register today!

Also on Saturday is the Fall Harvest Festival at Lautenbach’s in Fish Creek. Enjoy complimentary wine, specialty food tasting, pick-your-own apples, free guided tours, wagon rides, live music from Last Man Standing, and an Apple Donut Eating and Pie Eating Contests.

Looking for a grate time? I can’t think of anything cheddar than Stinkfest in Egg Harbor.

“Oh, you’ve gouda brie kidding me.” I’m not! Stop by the Wisconsin Cheese Masters for free samples of very aromatic Wisconsin Limburger and many other Aged Brick cheeses.

Finish out the weekend with Stas Venglevski and Tanya Kransnobaeva at the Tambourine Lounge in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday Sept. 23.  Enjoy traditional Russian folk favorites, classical and original compositions.
