This Weekend in Door County: Maifest & Memorial Day Events

Kick off the summer season with a long weekend full of events in Door County.

Maifest

The 47th annual celebration of Jacksonport Maifest is taking place on May 25-26. Since 1973 it has been considered Door County’s unofficial summer kick-off. Festivities take place at Lakeside Park, located at the intersection of County V and Highway 57 in Jacksonport. Highlights include the Maifest parade at 10:30am, Maifest run, live music, fest favorite concessions and a Maypole dance. See Full Event Schedule Here >

Art Openings, Fine Art Fair & Car Show

Art openings and receptions abound! Galleries, studios and art schools are all opening their doors for season-starting events. Find them all here >

The main attraction this weekend in Sturgeon Bay is the annual Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair. Head over to the waterfront Sunset Park to browse a variety of mediums including pottery, painting, jewelry, printmaking, metal, wood, and so much more! Car Show & Brat Sale at Country Walk Shops is from 9am-3pm, benefitting the Sister Bay Lions Club. Featuring a brat fry and beer, 50/50 raffle for cash and prizes, and a kids race car model making.

Live Music

There is plenty of music to be enjoyed all weekend in Door County. Headliners include Gin Strings, Glas Hamr, A Little Too Short to Be Stormtroopers, A.J. Croce, Unity, The Del Rays, Modern Day Drifters, Whiskey Ditch, Sundae And Mr. Goessl, and more. See Live Music Schedule Here >

Farmers Markets Begin

Egg Harbor Farmers Market is Friday, May 24 from 9am-1pm at Harbor View Park, in Sister Bay the farmers market is Saturday, May 25, from 8am-12pm at the Corner of the Past and Sunday, May 26, from 9am-1pm is the Bailey’s Harbor Farmers Market.
